{"id":706,"date":"2017-07-28T18:02:38","date_gmt":"2017-07-28T18:02:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/genesiswp.net\/?p=301"},"modified":"2018-04-17T16:47:37","modified_gmt":"2018-04-17T16:47:37","slug":"move-genesis-entry-header","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leaguewp.com\/move-genesis-entry-header\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Make Genesis Entry Header Full Width"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The default location of Genesis Entry Header, which includes Page Title and Post Meta, is inside the Site Inner which has a specified width in the Genesis Sample Theme.<\/p>\n<p>However, if you want to make your Genesis Entry Header full-width, you will have to move it outside the Site Inner.<\/p>\n<p>In this post, I will share code to show you how to reposition the Genesis Entry Header below Site Header, making it full-width with a background color to help it stand out from the content.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s assume you want a full-width Entry Header both in pages as well as posts. If you want to do it otherwise, you will need to use conditionals, which I will discuss is another post.<\/p>\n<p>So, here&#8217;s the code to remove entry header from its usual location in Genesis Sample theme and display it below Site Header.<\/p>\n<p><script src=\"https:\/\/gist.github.com\/topleague\/a3dcc8607866f0f526847db1064c4f5f.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>You need to past the above code at the bottom of your functions.php file.<\/p>\n<h3>Add CSS<\/h3>\n<p>You need to add some CSS to add padding around the entry header and add some background color to help your entry header stand out.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the code I have used for this tutorial, but you can add your own css depending on your liking.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>.entry-header {<br \/>\nbackground-color: #ccc;<br \/>\ntext-align: center;<br \/>\npadding: 90px 0 90px 0;<br \/>\n}<\/p>\n<p>.entry-title {<br \/>\nfont-size: 36px;<br \/>\nfont-size: 3.6rem;<br \/>\n}<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>That&#8217;s it. In archives it moves the title of the first post to the full-width header, but the title of the taxonomy stays below it.
