You may have seen many blogs display post views with an eye icon on their blog. Adding a post views counter in your Genesis theme and displaying post views may not interest all bloggers but for some, it gives a quick view of your most viewed posts. The data can be really useful in identifying articles that are performing better than others. For everything else, you can rely on your analytics tools. Similarly, many blogs also display a relative date length, eg. 7 hours ago instead of the usual post date.
Here are the steps to add the code to your theme files and display post views. Before you proceed, make sure your theme has support for Font Awesome icons.
